Control Tower v22.0.0 - Operations Guide

This quick link enables the user to view the header information and retrieve the respective routing information.

1.Select Route Schedules quick link.
The system displays the Routing Schedules tab. the user can view Move Type label at the Header level. The system displays the value in the Move Type that is fetched from Container Move Type field from the dynamic screen.
The Origin and Destination are modified to Pick Up and Delivery respectively at the header level.        

Origin is fetched from the Point of Pickup in the Dynamic Screen.

Destination is fetched from the Point of Delivery in the Dynamic Screen.

No. of Container field is replaced with Container field. This field contains the accumulation of the number of similar containers * Container Type.

All the routes fetched from TMFF will have revenue information.  Estimated Revenue Amount will be populated in the Available Routes grid.


Get Route Schedules tab is embedded with [Get Routes], [Get Fastest Route], [Get Cheapest Route] and [Calculate Costs] buttons.
 
Note:
For LCL Transport Orders, the system sends Pcs = No. of Packages and PcsUnit = Packages Unit field information to TMFF as data parameters in the request and fetches the values from the dynamic screen and display against "Pieces" in the header area.
 
The following fields are displayed in the header for LCL shipments:

Pieces (Pieces, Pieces Unit).

Weight (Weight, Weight Unit).

Volume (Volume, Volume Unit).

The system will not display the above three fields in case of FCL shipments.
 

The following fields are displayed in the header for FCL shipments:

Containers (Container Type, Container Qty).

The system will not send containers as a parameter in the request in case of LCL Shipment.

The system will not send Pieces, Weight and Volume as parameters in the request in case of FCL Shipment.

The system will not display containers information on the header for any other Load term.

The system will not send containers information in the request for any other Load term.

The system sends the Load Term in the service call only when the MOT is SE.

The system displays a message as "Please provide either SE or AE in MOT" when MOT provided is other than SE/AE.

2.On the click of any of the buttons, the system initializes a call to the TMFF with the header information and retrieves the respective routing information along with the routing legs, schedules and cut off dates.

3.A settings icongearis used to configure the Columns for the routes section.

a.Click gearicon.
The system opens Arrange Columns window where the user can arrange columns.        

b.Click [Select All] and drag and drop to move all the fields from Available Columns to Selected Columns and vice versa.

c.Drag and drop the selected field from Available Columns to Selected Columns and vice versa.

d.Move Up or Move Down the fields using the mouse to rearrange the fields under Available Columns or Selected Columns sections.

e.Click [Save] to update changes.
 
Note:
The selection criteria of the columns are saved for a session.

 

Calculate Cost of the Route:        

The [Calculate Cost] button is implemented on the Routing Schedules tab to get the estimated Cost Information of the route.

[Calculate Cost] button updates the Estimated Cost Amount and the Profit Amount.

[Calculate Cost] button is enabled on three conditions:

The Load Term should be FCL.

The routes selected should be fetched from GetCheapestRoute or GetRoutes.

The commodity is selected.

[Calculate Cost] button is added to the Object Permissions so that the admin can configure [Calculate Cost] button to any given roles or role categories or users depending on the Object permission.

When the user requests for all the available routes or cheapest routes, the system fetches the routes.

 

1.Click [Get Cheapest Route] or [Get Routes] and select available routes, legs, schedules and cut off dates and commodities and click [Calculate Cost]  to get the Estimated Cost Amount and the Profit Amount.
The system displays the Estimated Cost Amount and the Profit Amount.

2.Select the estimated cost information and click [Add to Transport Order] for the costs to get added to the T.O. Charges sub-frame in the T.O. Dynamic screen.
[Add to Transport Order] button adds all the legs to Routing Info.
If schedules are associated with Legs, then the corresponding information (Carrier, Vessel, ETD and ETA) flow into the Routing Info.
If schedules are not associated with Legs then the system updates only To and From information in Routing Info.
 
Note:

[Add to Transport Order] button exports the Routing Information if route and legs information are provided or Cost information is provided.

On the selection of Legs, the routes information is updated. The system need not delay for the Cutoff date selection.

If there are schedules for the selected legs, then the system displays an alert to select the schedules.

If the Routing Info is updated with multiple legs and T.O. Charges are updated with the Cost, then the system displays an alert as "The selected legs are added to the Routing Info and the calculated cost is added to T.O. Charges".

If the Routing Info is not updated and T.O. Charges are updated with the Cost, then the system displays an alert message as "Routing information already exists. Charges will only be added. Please click [Ok] if you wish to continue or click [Cancel]. 

If the Routing Info is updated with the multiple legs and T.O. Charges are not updated with the cost, then the system displays an alert as "The selected legs are added to the Routing Info".

[Add to Transport Order] button is added to the Object Permissions so that the admin can configure [Add to Transport Order] button to any given roles or role categories or users.
 
The system displays the cost added to the T.O. Charges sub-frame in the T.O. Dynamic screen.        
 
The user can modify the estimated charges.

3.Select the records and modify the details and [Save].        

Note: The user can override the estimated charges from Routing Schedules if there are any existing estimated charges available.
